While we use machinery like saws and edge polishers to assist in the process, our custom edges are created with pure manpower, reflecting the skill and dedication of our artisans.
A Family-Driven Business
Desert Sky Surfaces is deeply rooted in family values. Danielle, the owner, works closely with her father, Clint, who serves as the CEO and oversees day-to-day operations with a dedicated team. The family atmosphere extends to the office and the shop, where employees are considered more like family than staff. Tana Dunlap, Danielle’s sister, leads the accounting department and handles HR and contractual matters, ensuring that the business runs smoothly while maintaining a personal touch.
We believe that fostering a family environment not only creates a sense of security for our employees but also enables us to keep our prices reasonable and our business thriving. By cross-training our team in various tasks, we ensure that our operations remain seamless, even if someone needs to take a leave of absence.
Resilience Through Challenges
Our journey has not been without its challenges. From securing our first building in downtown Phoenix in October 2009 to expanding into a larger facility in Chandler in April 2014, and eventually purchasing our own building in Mesa in July 2017, Desert Sky Surfaces, LLC has faced growing pains and rough times. However, through the hard work and resilience of our team, we have continued to grow and succeed.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when the world came to a halt in March 2020, our phenomenal team stepped up to find innovative ways to keep our operations running smoothly. We provided our employees with the time they needed to recover while ensuring that our business continued to serve our customers without interruption.
